Donut Worry
Every Friday, the nonprofit theatre I worked at would have coffee and donuts for the staff. At the start of fall, which corresponded with the start of our fiscal year, there were two dozen donuts for everyone to share. After the holidays, they ordered one dozen donuts and started cutting them in half to “allow us to try more than one flavor”.
By the end of season (right before the Spring gala) they cut the donuts into quarters. This definitely led to some awkward eye contact between the starving interns.
Once we had the gala, though, the full donuts came back.
