We Don't Believe in Sales
INT, DAY - A NON PROFIT REGIONAL THEATER.
We were hiring a new director of marketing (I was manager) and were in the process of interviewing a candidate. He was working in marketing at a renowned university theater program. This is key because when I asked him whether he believed it best to invest more marketing dollars in shows that were not reaching their target or save the funds for bigger box office grabs, he said:
"I don't really believe in sales and numbers. It's going to work out the way it is going to work out."
Spoken like a true man of a forever endowed university program!
