Greatest Retirement Party Ever

We all know budgets are tight around goodbye parties and general staff appreciation events, but it takes something special to fall below the bar of the retirement party the nonprofit I worked for hosted to send off a senior accounting member. We all gathered in the conference room and the CEO said there was a special video to honor Sheila (name changed). That's nice, I thought, before being proven immediately wrong.

The CEO pulled up YouTube and selected a video of "So Long/Farewell" from The Sound of Music, with the film cast singing over stock images of a community theater company production with lyrics superimposed AND WE WATCHED THE ENTIRE THING. IN SILENCE.

Thanks for the memories, Sheila! You will be missed but the budget didn't allow for anything extra.
