The Food Pyramid

This nonprofit I used to work for was very concerned that staff knew internally that the mission was “food education”…but every time we went to a donor to ask for funds, they would frame the program as a food handout program to get more money donated.

Every time I pointed this out, they insisted that as long as the donor didn’t ask “directly”, we didn’t have to clarify because this way we would raise more money…
